NEWBL Statement on 2020 Season

The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League (NEWBL) has announced its plans for the 2020 season.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the NEWBL has announced its teams will be playing an uneven amount of games against each other. No official league standings will be kept as a result, and the league will not be recognizing any individual player awards or stats.

The Green Bay Storm, due to circumstances related to the pandemic, will not be taking the field in 2020, but plan to return in 2021.

The remaining six NEWBL teams (Appleton, Menasha, Sheboygan, along with NEWBL newcomers Greater Green Bay, Kewaskum, and West Allis) will all play against each other. The total amount of games each team plays against each other will vary from team to team based on circumstances in each teams’ respective communities related to the pandemic.

The NEWBL is tentatively planning on an end-of-year tournament during the third week of August. Details of the planned tournament will be announced at a later date.
