The Menasha Macs combined on a five-hit shutout to defeat the Appleton Legends 3-0 in Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League action. Owen Ripley earned the win, allowing five hits over 6 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out seven, before Hudson Ludwig recorded the final seven outs to complete the shutout. Menasha broke through with two runs in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Jacob Coopman and a fielder’s choice off the bat of Colin Nigl, then added an insurance run in the seventh when Ayden Kanaman singled home Jackson Anderson. Kanaman finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base, while Nigl added two hits and an RBI as the Macs handed Appleton its first shutout loss of the season.
The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin. Players in the league are considered amateur status, are not paid and consist mostly of current college baseball players, as well as former college and professional players.
