The Greenville Stars erupted for 16 runs on 18 hits and rolled past the Kewaskum A’s 16-5 in a five-inning NEWBL contest. Jake Lucas led the offensive barrage, going deep twice and driving in seven runs, including a grand slam in the third inning and a three-run homer in the fourth. Greenville scored twice in the first, added six in the second, four more in the third, and another four in the fourth to build a 16-0 lead. Brett Sommer doubled, walked twice, and scored three times, while Garrett Hietpas, Matthew Hietpas, Joe Fischer, Kameron Chronis, Gary Wuest, and Brock Wolter all contributed multi-hit efforts. Kewaskum answered with five runs over the final two innings, highlighted by Sean Menzel’s three-run homer and a two-run fielder’s choice in the fourth. Nolan Vincent added a double and two runs scored for the A’s. Taiven Gass earned the win for Greenville, while Braden Bothe took the loss for Kewaskum.

After being run-ruled in the opener, Kewaskum bounced back to earn a split of the doubleheader with a 5-4 victory over Greenville. The A’s built a 4-0 lead through three innings, scoring once in the first before stringing together four consecutive doubles in the third from Brad Young, Sean Gregorius, Nick Rosenthal, and Andy Neu. Greenville answered with a four-run fifth inning, taking advantage of a pair of Kewaskum errors and key doubles from Brett Sommer and Jake Lucas to even the game at 4-4. The tie held until the bottom of the seventh when Nolan Vincent launched a walk-off home run to left field to give Kewaskum the win. Vincent finished with a double, homer, and two runs scored, while Gregorius, Rosenthal, Neu, and Young all contributed doubles. Lucas and Sommer each doubled for Greenville, while Nate Vela, Ethan Peters, and Trent Feucht combined to limit Kewaskum to five hits over the final four innings. Riley Kohlmann, Jake Sweet, and Arthur Liebau handled the pitching duties for Kewaskum as the A’s improved to 2-5 in NEWBL play while Greenville fell to 1-4.
