The Appleton Legends advanced in the NEWBL playoffs with a 5-4 victory over the Kewaskum A’s.

The Appleton Legends advanced in the NEWBL playoffs with a 5-4 victory over the Kewaskum A’s. After five scoreless innings, Appleton scored four times in the bottom of the sixth, drawing three bases-loaded walks before another run scored on a balk. Kewaskum answered with four runs in the top of the seventh, using sacrifice flies from Andy Neu and Jalen Gellings, a bases-loaded walk to Nick Erd, and a wild pitch to tie the game. Appleton regained the lead in the bottom half when Blake Wallenfang singled home Titan Milhaupt. Grant Bader then held Kewaskum scoreless over the final two innings, working around a pair of two-out singles in the ninth to secure the win. Anthony Weyers and Nick Terrell each had two hits for Appleton, while Chase Verbanec collected two hits for Kewaskum. With the win, the Legends advanced to the playoff semifinals against Sheboygan which will be played at USA Sports Complex in Appleton Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin.
