The Appleton Legends scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to erase a one-run deficit and defeat the Greenville Stars 5-2 in Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League action.

The Appleton Legends scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to erase a one-run deficit and defeat the Greenville Stars 5-2 in Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League action. Greenville carried a 2-1 lead into the final inning before Peyton Just singled, Alex Ramus was hit by a pitch, and a Greenville error loaded the bases. Chris Vandenheuvel tied the game with an RBI fielder’s choice before Bubba Thompson delivered the decisive blow, launching a three-run home run to put the Legends in front. Thompson finished with three hits and three RBIs, while Reid Hietpas added two hits and an RBI. Joe Fischer doubled twice for Greenville, and Gary Wuest and Jake Lucas each drove in a run in the loss.
The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin. Players in the league are considered amateur status, are not paid and consist mostly of current college baseball players, as well as former college and professional players.
