Appleton used a barrage of extra-base hits and home runs to roll past Greenville 11-1. The Legends scored twice in the second inning on an RBI single from Cole Dornfeld and a sacrifice fly by Anthony Weyers before erupting for three more runs in the third, highlighted by Chris Vandenheuvel’s RBI double and a two-run homer from Bubba Thompson. Appleton added four runs in the fifth as Thompson singled home a run, Dornfeld ripped a two-run double, and two more runs scored on a Greenville error. Vandenheuvel and Thompson then went back-to-back with solo home runs in the sixth to push the lead to 11-0. Thompson finished 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored, and three RBIs, while Vandenheuvel went 3-for-5 with a double, home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Dornfeld added three hits and three RBIs for the Legends, who collected 15 hits overall. Greenville avoided the shutout in the seventh when Bryce Hintz singled home Jake Lucas, but Carson Steinbeck earned the win after allowing four hits over five scoreless innings while striking out four.
