Macs, Legends Pick Up Wins Wednesday

The Macs and Legends each picked up wins on Wednesday as the regular season starts coming to a close.
Menasha Macs 5, Kewaskum A’s 4
The game was tied at four in the top of the ninth when Ty Carlson singled, driving in one run. Hoyt Keller struck out 10 batters, surrendering seven hits and four runs over six and one-third innings while walking four. Menasha was the first to get on the board in the first when Evan Olson hit a solo home run. Kewaskum tied the game at one in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly by Nolan Vincent. The Macs took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third with a single by Carlson, but Kewaskum jumped ahead in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homer by Brady Burrill and an RBI double by Nick Rosenthal. Menasha reclaimed the lead in the top of the ninth with singles by Kale Twombly and Carlson. Alex Windey earned the win for Menasha, allowing zero hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Vincent took the loss for Kewaskum, giving up two runs on two hits over two innings.
Appleton Legends 5, Greenville Stars 1
A single by Chris Huettner on a full count put the Legends on the board in the top of the second en route to a 5-1 win Wedneday. The Legends amassed 11 hits, with Huettner leading with two RBIs. Cole Dornfeld went 4-for-5 to lead the team in hits, and Luke Krull and Nick Terrell each had multi-hit games. The Stars lone run of the game came in the bottom of the third on a error by Legends pitcher AJ Price. Chayce Schultz, Evan Mahan, Ethan Peters, and Jack Coenen each had one hit for the Stars. Price started the game for the Legends, surrendering three hits and one unearned run over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Kolden Hunter started for the Stars, allowing eight hits and five runs (four earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Blake Wallenfang and Ian Plaster each threw scoreless innings in relief for the Legends.
The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin. Players in the league are considered amateur status, are not paid and consist mostly of current college baseball players, as well as former college and professional players.
