The Appleton Legends lost the lead late in a 7-4 defeat to the Sheboygan A's on Monday.

The Appleton Legends lost the lead late in a 7-4 defeat to the Sheboygan A’s on Monday.

Appleton lost despite out-hitting Sheboygan 11 to 8.

Derek Loomans was on the hill for Sheboygan. He lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and four runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Grant Ver Voort was on the mound for Appleton. He allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out six. Steven Baehman, Trent Blake, Chris Huettner, and Bill Miller each entered the game in relief, throwing one inning, one inning, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Courtney Watkins smacked a home run the fourth inning for Appleton.

Josh Gates went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Sheboygan in hits.
