Green Bay fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-3 loss to Appleton on Tuesday.
Green Bay fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-3 loss to Appleton on Tuesday. Appleton scored on a sacrifice fly by Carl Valk and a double by Matt Baehman in the second inning.
Appleton got things started in the second inning when Valk‘s sac fly scored one run for Appleton Legends.
Chris Huettner took the win for the Legends. He allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three. Grant Ver Voort and BJ Chase entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Chase recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Appleton.
Grant Frazer took the loss for Green Bay. He allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
Green Bay had eight hits in the game. Tyler Brown, Mike Cohen, and Marcus Rauschenbach all collected multiple hits.
Appleton totaled nine hits in the game. Tony Krueger, Aaron Moody, and Jaxon Spiegelberg all had multiple hits. Krueger went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Appleton.
