Sheboygan A’s Fights Back In Loss To Appleton Legends

Despite a 7-run deficit in the fifth inning, Sheboygan A’s almost came all the way back, eventually falling 10-9 to Appleton Legends on Wednesday. Sheboygan A’s put up five runs in the failed comeback. Logan Vietmeier, Ryan Fields, JJ Zywiciel, Mark Wanner, and Harry Steldt came through with RBIs to lead the rally. Despite a 7-run deficit in the fifth inning, Sheboygan A’s almost came all the way back, eventually falling 10-9 to Appleton Legends on Wednesday. Sheboygan A’s was right in it until Appleton Legends singled in the ninth inning.
Appleton Legends opened up scoring in the second inning. Isaac Gerhardt grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Sheboygan A’s tied things up at nine. Sheboygan A’s scored one run on a stolen base.
Sheboygan A’s scored three runs in the fifth inning. Sheboygan A’s ‘s big inning was driven by a single by Fields and by Vietmeier.
Appleton Legends scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Appleton Legends was led by Carl Valk, Tony Krueger, Aaron Moody, Gerhardt, Courtney Watkins, and Jaxon Spiegelberg, all driving in runs in the inning.
#16 was credited with the victory for Appleton Legends. He surrendered four runs on three hits over four innings, striking out six. Jake Stern threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Taylor Schwarz led things off on the hill for Sheboygan A’s. He surrendered nine runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings. Jacob Bonin threw four and a third innings out of the bullpen.
Jason Malkowski started the game for Appleton Legends. He lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out three
Sheboygan A’s racked up eight hits on the day. Jake Falish and Ross Krist all managed multiple hits for Sheboygan A’s. Krist and Falish each collected two hits to lead Sheboygan A’s.
Appleton Legends totaled 11 hits in the game. Krueger and Gerhardt all collected multiple hits for Appleton Legends. Krueger went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Appleton Legends in hits.
