Macs rout Sheboygan; face Appleton in NEWBL title game

The Menasha Macs defeated the Sheboygan A's and the Appleton Legends defeated the Green Bay Storm; with that, the Macs will face the Legends in the NEWBL championship game this Friday.

MENASHA, WI – The Menasha Macs erupted for 19 runs on 16 hits in their 19-1 victory in seven innings over Sheboygan in a semifinal of the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League playoffs at Koslo Field on Wednesday.

Menasha plays in the NEWBL title game Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Appleton against the Legends. Appleton defeated Green Bay 10-7 in the other semifinal.

Adam Grambow led the hit parade for the Macs, finishing 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI. Ryan Hinsky added three hits and two RBI.

Eric Zuberbier got the win, scattering five hits over five innings and striking out three for Menasha (23-12).

At Appleton, John Hendrick had three hits and four RBI and Trent Whitcomb added two hits and three RBI to lead Appleton to the win over Green Bay.

Luke Watson got the win. Matt DeYoung also had three hits for the Legends (29-9).
