Schwarz throws shutout as Sheboygan A’s defeat Menasha Macs

An early lead helped propel the Sheboygan A's to an 8-0 victory against the Menasha Macs Monday night.

SHEBOYGAN, WI- An early lead helped propel the Sheboygan A’s to an 8-0 victory against the Menasha Macs Monday night.

The A’s scored on a single by Harry Steldt and Cole Miklavcic in the first inning and never looked back. The A’s found themselves with a 5-0 lead in the second after Josh Moses hit a 3-run home run.

For the Macs, it was hard for a player to collect even one hit. A single by Colin Engelbert in the third inning was the best thing offensively for the Macs.

The A’s collected a total of 11 hits on the night. Mitchell Sutton, Moses and Chris Saltzman each had multiple. Adam Grambow, Colin Engelbert and Sam Hawley rallied together to manage three hits total for the Macs.

Taylor Schwarz earned the win after pitching a complete game for the A’s. Schwarz gave up zero runs, three hits and struck out ten. Aaron Langdon took the loss for the Macs. He pitched three innings, giving up six runs, seven hits, striking out two and walking one.

With this win the A’s move up to a 6-3 league record, while the Macs move down to 2-2.

The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin. Players in the league are considered amateur status, are not paid and consist mostly of current college baseball players, as well as former college and professional players.
