APPLETON – Tim Harikkala pitched a two-hit shutout to lead the Appleton Legends to a 2-0 victory over the Oshkosh Giants in a Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League playoff quarterfinal game Monday at USA Youth Sports Complex.
Harikkala struck out three batters in pitching the Legends (21-16) into the league semifinals.
Appleton will play at Green Bay on Wednesday, while the Menasha Macs play at Sheboygan in the other semifinal game. The best-of-3 league finals are scheduled to begin Friday night.
Bryce Plate drove in four runs and Jason Malkowski had three RBIs for the Legends, who banged out 13 hits in the seven-inning game.
