The Sheboygan A’s lead for a good chunk of the game, but still fell 8-1 to the Green Bay Storm on Tuesday.

When Wyatt Olson hit a two-out double, made it to third on an outfield bobble and scored on Taylor Grimm’s base hit, the A’s led 1-0 after one inning.

They handed that 1-0 lead over to Taylor Schwarz, who allowed the Storm just two hits through seven innings. The A’s botched some early scoring opportunities but it was still 1-0 going into the eighth.

Then it happened.

The bats of the Storm exploded, producing six hits. They were helped along by walks, wild pitches, one physical and several mental errors.

The win puts Green Bay at 9-2 atop the Northeastern Wisconsin League. The A’s are 8-3 and 18-8 overall.

The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin. Players in the league are considered amateur status, are not paid and consist mostly of current college baseball players, as well as former college and professional players.
