Legends pound out 20 hits in win over Giants

The Appleton Legends baseball team erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to take control and knock off the Oshkosh Giants 16-9 in a Northeastern Wisconsin League game on Saturday.

APPLETON – The Appleton Legends baseball team erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to take control and knock off the Oshkosh Giants 16-9 in a Northeastern Wisconsin League game on Saturday.

Kevin Kangas had a two-run single to highlight the inning with Tyler Nehring, Tyler Thompson and Dom Hillesheim all having bases-loaded, RBI singles.

Jake Smith got the win for Appleton (2-3, 7-4). Hillesheim finished 4-for-4 to lead a 20-hit attack for the Legends.
