The Appleton Legends opened Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League action with a 7-2 victory over Manitowoc on Wednesday in Manitowoc.

The Appleton Legends opened Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League action with a 7-2 victory over Manitowoc on Wednesday in Manitowoc.

Marshall Zahn pitched six innings of four-hit ball to get the victory. He struck out four and allowed two runs (one earned). Jake Smith pitched the final three innings and struck out seven of the final nine batters he faced to get the save.

Chris Erm drove in two runs for the Legends (6-1 overall, 1-0 league).
