A’s fall to Menasha in game one of championship series

Despite threatening late, the Sheboygan A’s couldn’t overcome a 4-1 deficit, falling to the Menasha A’s and going down 1-0 in the series.
MENASHA – Despite threatening late, the Sheboygan A’s couldn’t overcome a 4-1 deficit, falling to the Menasha A’s and going down 1-0 in the series.
The Mac’s struck first after an error by the A’s resulted in a run in the bottom of the first inning.
Another infield error resulted in another Menasha run just an inning later, and the Mac’s took a 2-0 lead heading into the third inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Blake Fleischman singled to left to put a runner in scoring position and Carter Amundsen drove him in with an RBI single for Sheboygan’s first and only run.
Menasha scored once more in the sixth and again in the seventh inning to put the game away.
Game two of the series will take place Friday night when Menasha travels to Wildwood Park in Sheboygan.
The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin. Players in the league are considered amateur status, are not paid and consist mostly of current college baseball players, as well as former college and professional players.
