Legends crush Manitowoc in playoff game

The Appleton Legends baseball team pounded out 32 hits in their 28-5 victory over Manitowoc in a first-round Northeastern Baseball League playoff game on Sunday.

The Appleton Legends baseball team pounded out 32 hits in their 28-5 victory over Manitowoc in a first-round Northeastern Baseball League playoff game on Sunday.

The Legends’ Tyler Nehring led the offensive assault, finishing 4-for-5 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI. Jason Malkowski also had four hits for Appleton with Trent Whitcomb finishing 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBI. Kevin Kangas also had three hits, including two doubles and five RBI.

John Hendrick got the win for Appleton (28-12).

The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League is a top-tier, wooden bat, adult semi-professional baseball league located in northeastern Wisconsin.
